About Dieter Blum
I am self-taught and although I have been involved in electronics and physics since 1969 (professionally since 1972), I have no degree.Over the past thirty years I have been primarily involved in R&D concerning applied electrodynamics, which has led to the development of several novel electric and magnetic field sensing methods and techniques.My more recent work (last 10 years) concerns the application of some of these novel sensing techniques towards the remote / standoff detection of anomalous objects buried in earthen voids (e.g. for UXO detection), as well as the detection of dangerous electric fields surrounding power lines for the protection of construction equipment, and the development of novel and comprehensive real time monitoring systems for conveyor belts in order to provide for intelligent bulk solids handling systems.
