I've worked in education for over 20 years, having started out in libraries and early on feeling that spark of creativity and interest using technology with learners and teachers. I'm in the main self taught and have experience in using different Library and Learning platforms e.g. Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle, Heritage LMS, Capita LMS, and now Worldshare Circulation. I have performed system administrative, maintenance and development, and trained and enthused end users. At Edge Hill University I am part of the Learning Technology Development Team, supporting users of Blackboard, and Worldshare Circulation, plus other systems in the Learning Edge suite of tools available to University staff and students.I enjoy: - Supporting and advising other teams in processes and practice related to the VLE or LMS- Implementing new processes following consultation and testing- Investigating and identifying solutions to daily troubleshooting issues- Creating content/comms that's engaging and fit for purpose- Exploring and promoting developments in tools for use in an education settingMy skills:- VLE configuration and application for teaching and learning, troubleshooting and being key contact internally and externally.- Experienced trainer in use of digital resources and associated technologies. - Library Management System experience, configuration, testing, advice on processes.- Creation of user guides, learning materials and video demonstrations in a variety offormats.- Reporting on system use using a variety of solutions e.g. SQL queries, BusinessObjects BI Launchpad and Web Intelligence.- Systematic approach to problem solving and troubleshooting, attention to detail and keen appreciation of end user experience.- A flexible team player who can also work independently, manage workload and prioritise tasks.- Able to lead on project work and identify and implement new processes to have a positive impact on practices or service.- Well practiced in providing individual support face-to-face and online in sometimes stressful circumstances.
