We successfully gained funding from the government and have since worked with over half of all CS teachers in Scotland. Rather than focusing on specific skills (which would then quickly be out of date), we have instead updated the teachers' pedagogical techniques (the 'how' of teaching) to improve their effectiveness. Our aim is that all pupils will be able to learn challenging Computing Science concepts, not just the 'geeky' students. Teachers learn techniques such as peer instruction, hidden mechanisms, pattern orientated instruction, mechanism visualiser, variable roles, subgoal labelling, and the importance of a positive mindset.
