I lead our digital value creation and due dilligence work for the portfolio across all asset classes. I also lead our team of 40+ data scientist, ML (machine learning), AI in deploying innovative new models and technology in the companies we own as well as for Carlyle itself. I developed the idea for a synthetic investor and have developed a data science environment in snowflake that holds 2.2 times more data than GPT 3.5 was trained on, over 100 TB's and billions of technographic, firmographic, and other deal signals all powered by knowledge graph technology. I also lead Carlyle's proprietary relationship with OpenAI that led us to become one of only 5 companies with access to ChatGPT Enterprise as a Founding Partner. I lead Generative AI and ML innovation for Carlyle with full P&L/budget responsbility which leverages my experience as the CEO of a business Unit for a fortune 100 company, Arrow Electronics, to drive innovation forward that delivers bottom line and top line impact. I also led Carlyle's balance sheet investment in Sesamm, a ML/AI company with one of the largest data sets in finance. I also led the deployment of OpenAI to the entire portfolio en-masse- over30 companies which gave them advantaged access to the tools from OpenAI before they were released ot the public and with proprietary capabilities.

Matt was Chief Digital Officer and EVP/GM of the digital business at Arrow Electronics. As a section 16 officer, he had P&L responsibility and led a global organization spanning sales, development, digital marketing, and inventory. Under his stewardship, Arrow successfully implemented a digital transformation at an 80 year old industry leading technology, distribution and engineering company.

I served as the global Chief Digital Officer and General Manager of a $750M digital product portfolio at Hibu – formerly Yell Group. I led the Digital Business Unit, comprised of 700 FTE’s in product and marketing related roles and an additional 1300 in operating/supply-chain roles, with full P&L accountability for the Digital Business Unit to the board of directors and CEO. I took the business to market through 6000 sales representatives in 6 countries including inbound sales, outbound telesales and premise. I was also the senior-most executive responsible for product development and innovation. I led the turnaround of hibu's digital business across two business lines with two different objectives:1. Stabilize a Rapidly Declining Internet Media Business – I ran our 50M unique visitor, $400M, global internet media business which includes local search, display, maps, local content, vertical search, etc. I stabilized the decline of this business to near flat from double digit decline.2. Grow a Digital Marketing Services Business – I built a digital marketing services business which I grew at a ~50% CAGR composed of websites, eCommerce, SEM, SEO, Display/Banner ads, and other search related marketing services. I led the acquisition of Moonfruit.com and operated the DIY website business, an award winning Do-It-Yourself platform and brand as a part of my business unit. The successful integration of Moonfruit created a $100M website business in under 12 months. I was globally responsible for the digital business across hibu's operating countries including the US, UK, Spain, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Philippines, Colombia, and India. In addition to operating the business, I recruited talented digital engineers and product developers who created world-class products.

I specialized in technology and marketing. I led our efforts in the consumer media and digital practice in developing new digital business models in e-tail, e-commerce, online, universal content management, digital content management, social media and social networking strategy, social commerce innovation, consumer electronics strategy, customer experience design and value creation, NPS improvement, commerce platforms, digital marketing and digital marketing services, loyalty program design, and multi-channel strategy/commerce.
