This multi-year project included upgrading of the CAD/AVL dispatching system will a new radio system by Harris. The 800Mhz OpenSky radio system for all vehicles, including buses, people mover, rail and non-revenue vehicles along with dispatch centers for each mode. This system allows MDT to manage their transportation fleet through the integration of databases, workstations, scheduling systems and crystal reporting systems.

This system allows CMTA to manage their transportation fleet through the integration of databases, workstations, scheduling systems and crystal reporting systems. At this point in time the project is on schedule to be completed in December of 2014, as originally planned.

Project Systems Engineer for a Bus Rapid Transit system in Lima, Peru. In this role, I was the technical lead for the CAD/AVL project for the city of Lima. This project utilized voice and data communications over cellular modem for over 500 new Rapid and feeder buses. Each of the BRT stops contained a 4 line dynamic message sign displaying the next four buses arriving. This was the first transit system in Lima, constructed completed from scratch, utilizing new Schedule Masters scheduling system planner, and ACS-Valance's Validator Fare Management system, all controlled and managed by the OrbCAD CAD/AVL Product.

From 2003 to 2006 Mr. Coleman was the manager for the Embedded Products Engineering group, responsible for all embedded products in the engineering organization. The engineering organization was responsible for the systems engineering design, development, and integration of hardware and software components of the CAD/AVL systems. He is responsible for developing and applying state of the art communications and digital technologies to GPS-based vehicle tracking. His responsibilities include evaluating technologies, reviewing and developing new products, and supporting new business initiatives. He is responsible for a multidiscipline product team The Product Team is responsible for developing common software and hardware for our transit customers.

From 2001 to 2003, Mr. Coleman served as the Lead Systems Engineer for OrbCAD program in Las Vegas, NV. In this role, Mr. Coleman has overall technical responsibility for design, integration and implementation of the CATCOM CAD/AVL system. The CATCOM system is composed of seven workstations, redundant servers, long term database, over-the-air paratransit manifests, automatic passenger counters, vehicle annunciators, two data channels, two radio sites, and two control centers for a 450-vehicle fleet utilizing a wireless LAN system at three different garages.

From 1993 to 1998, Mr. Coleman was the Lead Vehicle and Software Engineer for the OrbTrack 300 product line.From 1992 to 1993, Mr. Coleman was the lead Hardware Engineer for the F14 A/B programmable multiple display unit. Using Mil-1750A processor and MIL-1553B serial communications bus, he Designed and developed an ACTEL Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) using View Logic CAE system.
