CurrentI've lead multiple design teams across a broad range of projects and platforms. I've worked in both web and mobile, with large and small teams. I've lead teams that were spread around the globe, coordinating work across many different time zones. I've even lead multiple teams working on different project types simultaneously.I love working from the high level, strategic view, but I'm always cognizant of the needs to be delivering. Shipping software requires a deep understanding of the various trade-offs and compromises and I excel at making sure we deliver high-quality designs that can be delivered to actual customers. I love mentoring designers and helping them to increase their competence. I'm happy to see them succeed and I make sure they have ample opportunity to stretch themselves. I despise micromanagers and do all in my power to make sure my team has space to do their best work and provide valuable feedback, but I never want to be seen as interfering or controlling.
