Unlike other graduates, I took the road less travelled. I personally invested in unorthodox studies which has shown a higher level of accountability and self-reliance that underlines my appeal as a best-fit candidate.After successfully completing a Bachelor of Computer Science, I went out into the real world trying to get into the field, but found that I needed to do more to distinguish myself from the competition. At the same time, I did attend some interviews, and got excellent feedback about my people skills and ability to explain my knowledge and passion. However, I found that because I was not yet an Australian Permanent Resident, this still stopped me.I then went and successfully completed an ICT Professional Year Pathways Program, to gain more visa points, but also complete industry internships to gain more experience. I then enrolled in a Master of IT, hoping this was necessary to get the required points.Needless to say, I finally got my PR, which led me to decide to not continue with my Masters, but instead “go back into the field” to be as resourceful as possible to find other ways to gain hands-on experience. This has led me to where I am today- fully qualified, fully eligible and now fully confident I can be competitive. Off my on back I have completed certifications and course studies specific to my field. I have produced highly verifiable work that I am ready to share that guarantees I am not just technically proficient, but that I have the resourcefulness and mental fortitude to be a reliable team player under pressure.I welcome all invitations to connect to hear about any new roles.
