Academic research in my field is my passion, which makes me feel prolific. My interest in English Literature incorporates poetry and critical theories reflecting the cultural awareness, including the struggle against racism, or the ones reflecting the environmental consciousness which reveals the interrelationship between humans, animals and plants. My studies, in that sense, also extend to Turkish epic literature. My book "The Human-Animal Relationship in Pre-Modern Turkish Literature: A Study of The Book of Dede Korkut and The Masnavi, Book I, II" has recently been published by the Lexington Books in the USA. (I send my deep regards to Doug Vakoch, Simon Estok and Scott Slovic for their help in this publication.)As Prof. Serpil Oppermann stated in the prologue of the book "Ekoeleştiri: Çevre ve Edebiyat" (Phoenix, 2012), I am the first researcher in Turkey to write a master's thesis focusing on ecocriticism in the field of English Literature (2004).Recently, I have been giving online lectures at Cappadocia University on contemporary British poetry and prose, on a contract base. And, I am working on my new book project on critical plant studies and the plant poetics in the poetry of Thomas Hardy and Sylvia Plath.
