Part of E & D Nepal’s Senior Management team, reporting to the Head of Mission; I provided the leadership to country office for five months as acting Head of Mission (November 2011 to March 2012). Lead Nepal Country Strategic Plan (2012 – 2014) development process for Street Children and Urban Poor /Vulnerable Families sector strategy. Ensured proper implementation of Street Children and Improving Situation of Urban poor marginalized Families projects establishing systematic monitoring and reporting system leading to successfully reintegrate 65 street children within their families and helping over 700 families to solve their educational, health, livelihoods and psychosocial related problems. Developed concept notes and project proposals for institutional donors (EU) and foundations (Pro-Victims & Hermes) and secured (US $ 350,000) funding to mitigate the deficit funding according to the country strategy (2012 – 1014) . Strengthened the capacity of 80 E & D staff and partners’ staff on Project Cycle Management, child protection, governance and accountability and introduced structured project management system (log frame, DME) into one partner organisation resulting in improved project management and monitoring system. Initiated formal partnership with two colleges (Social Work) by signing a memorandum of Understanding to establish a regular way of evaluation of ongoing project from an academic eye.

Kathmandu, Nepal

Managed and coordinated Education for Youth (13 - 19): Youth for Peace and Development Project (US$7 m - five years) throughout project cycle (design / development to evaluation). The project was implemented by 15 remotely based local partners in 20 Nepalese districts. Project components included: 1) education 2) livelihood 3) participation and peace-building 4) emergency support 5) advocacy. The project managed to reach to 40,000 (50 % girls) youth associated with 950 youth groups and networks. Drafted and submitted report to donors, Head Quarter and government departments. Initiated partnership with Ministry of Youth and Sports and Association of Youth Organisations in Nepal to strengthen advocacy campaign for establishing youth issues as a concern at national level particularly National Youth Policy and National Youth Council

Nepal

Led child soldier reintegration project (USD 1.6 million for 3 years) being implemented by 20 local partners in 25 districts of Nepal that successfully reintegrated 2900 former child soldiers within their families in their community. Program Components; 1) Peace-building and harmony 2) identification and reintegration 3) Community based Child Protection system 4) participation 5) psychosocial care. Initiated and managed partnership with Central Child Welfare Board and National Human Rights Commission and local protection committee to safeguard child rights violation; readdress plan developed and implemented ensuring access of children as and when needed.

Kathmandu

I managed of Children in Armed Conflict and Disaster program supported by Save the Children Norway in Nepal. It includes to design, implement, monitoring and evaluation of the projects implemented by different partners both government and non-government organizations. I was one of the members of the task force to design Child Protection and Development Program, its implementation guideline and train relevant government and non government program staff on it. The project was implemented in partnership with Central Child Welfare Board (CCWB), Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare in 25 districts of Nepal.

Dhangadhi, Kalilai

Management of Children in Crisis project being implemented in 60 communities in Kailali district and prepared project reports and submit to donors. Program Components; 1) Emergency support 2) education and psychosocial care and support 3) community based child protection 4) advocacy. Supervised 5 program staff and 2 admin staff, recruited 30 volunteers and deployed them into communities to engage them in development and emergencies responses, Facilitated formation of one District and 6 Village level Children in Crisis Committees in the leadership of District Red Cross Chapter and Sub Chapters aiming to safeguard children from armed conflict and natural calamities.

Dhangadhi, Kailali

Strengthened Capacity of public representatives and local authorities on participatory planning, implementation and monitoring approaches resulting in increased accountability of Local Authorities. Provided technical support to the sectoral committees and assisted DDC to co-ordinate line-agencies, NGOs and private sector organisations to employ good governance in their services delivery. For first time in the district, initiated and produced situation analysis report of social development sector of Kailali district.
