My name is Dillon Afenir, and I am currently working as a Healthcare Data Analyst at Milliman! My strong expertise in analytical tools such as Excel, Python, and SQL, as well as my ability to extract meaningful insights from complex data sets enables me to be successful as a data analyst. I share a deep interest in cost-effectiveness of care, healthcare/institutional accessibility, and data analysis. My passion is to drive meaningful decision-making through robust analysis and research to transform healthcare. I have actively worked at the intersection of research and economics. Previously, I had worked for four years as a research assistant at the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) Department of Pediatrics in the Patient Safety Learning Lab (PSLL). My research was primarily conducting high-level cost analysis in interfacility neonatal transport. Currently, I am preparing the submission of two papers, one focusing on the effect of telemedicine on provider costs and neonatal transport, and the other on a cost analysis that characterizes the complexity of transportation from a multi-stakeholder perspective. I have successfully executed a wide range of tasks, including extensive healthcare dataset cleaning, statistical analysis, literature review, and manuscript writing. These experiences have allowed me to develop valuable skills in academic authorship, data analysis, process improvement, and policy suggestions.
