While at Bay Ship, I worked closely with welders and steel fitters with the construction of a new Interlake Steamship Company Bulk Carrier. I have assisted in multiple docking and undocking of vessels in the various drydocks throughout the shipyard, as well as annotated drawings and assisted guiding 3rd party ultrasonic weld testers to designated weld testing locations. Other experiences while at Bay Shipbuilding are listed below. • Designed a 60’x100’ steel table for the construction of ship hull sections• Attended and passed Dockmaster Training• 3D printed prototypes of steel fitting aids and ladder clamp safety aids • Assisted in a ship stability test for a Chicago River Tour Boat• Led meetings with ABS & Coast Guard over locations for nondestructive weld tests• Interpreted layout drawings and assisted in part installation on the new bulk freighter Mark W. Barker• Assisted managers and supervisors in locating steel parts from outfitting lists throughout the shipyard• Marked and cleaned weld joints for ultrasonic testing/ accompanied the tester on his inspections• Assisted in multiple ship dockings in the shipyard’s dry docks• Analyzed and edited AutoCAD Engineering drawings for production
