I am a student at BYU-Idaho. Growing up, I have always been the "fixer upper" in my family. I would take apart something that broke and either fix it or salvage it. As soon as high school came along, I was known as the guy to go to when you break your phone. I learned that I could buy parts for a phone and fix it for cheaper than the repair shop and still make a profit. Before I knew it, I had hours of experience behind my belt. Later in college, my love for fixing things drove me to studying Electrical Engineering. As I study this, I have learned to test things in a new way. One day I stumbled upon a broken projector that was worth a few thousand dollars brand new. I decided to buy it and try to fix it, so that I could enjoy some entertainment with friends and roommates on the big screen. I had never fixed anything on this caliber before, but in taking the risk I was able to find the problem and get us a working projector. It ended up being a problem with a MOSFET on the motherboard. This was achieved after hours and hours of testing and hypothesizing. After all these years I am now confident that this is what I am supposed to be learning and doing. I love what I do.
