I facilitate technical workflow and creative post-production of projects done at Breakwater Studios, from pre-production through final distribution/delivery. My duties include the development the best workflow and editing system to be used for each project, setting standards for image and sound quality, organizing media, backing up media, developing handover protocol to sound, composer, and color, conforming projects from offline to online in DaVinci Resolve, and seeing that the final deliverables are of the highest quality. I've been instrumental in building the post-production facilities from the ground-up from day one of the company - through the implementation of IT infrastructure and networking (including fiber), NAS shared storage, Mac OS computer systems, Avid/Premiere offline editorial workflows, DaVinci Resolve online and final conform, 4K film scanning equipment, Blu-ray/DVD authoring, and DCP authoring. I facilitate workflow between all editorial departments - offline editorial, sound, music, color, VFX, and graphics and created the project file structure organization that the company has used on all projects since 2015. I developed our data backup and archiving strategy to both hard drive and LTO tape, with on-site and off-site backup copies shared in multiple locations. I also work closely with our freelance editors and assistant editors to make sure they have what they need for a successful creative editing process.Because of my vast knowledge of computer and networking systems I act as the head of IT as well, making sure all computers and equipment at the company are up-to-date and working properly for every employee.

My duties included digitizing telecined 35mm/16mm film from digital tape to Avid MXF/Final Cut ProRes files for editorial. I also assisted with DaVinci Resolve conform, rendering, and file transfers. I'm highly grateful of the opportunity to work at this company and what I learned at CO3 has been instrumental in my work at Breakwater Studios.

I was instrumental in the completion of a DVD disc set - The Nina Foch Course for Filmmakers and Actors. Managing terabytes of media, Avid assistant editorial, and organizing many different video and audio formats over multiple Avid systems running different versions of the software. Facilitating workflow with colorist and sound editors, and authoring final DVDs with motion menus and high quality video for duplication.

I held this job before attending the University of Southern California and it was a great way to get an introduction to the film industry. My duties included running errands, thinking fast on my feet, cleaning the office, and assisting with various secretarial tasks. I learned a ton about how an editorial house is run and how to get everywhere on the west side of LA.
