Hello!My name is Dillon Lyons, and currently I work as a Law Enforcement Crime Analyst for the City of Newport News Police Department. As a Crime Analyst, I work with large information sources to produce multifaceted, multilayered work products on a regular basis. Using multiple information systems, I locate, aggregate, analyze, polish, then present accurate data sets to support decision makers throughout multiple levels of leadership and investigative bureaus. Before this, I was a Police Officer in the same city. I have been with NNPD since May 2019. During my time with NNPD, I have conducted hundreds of investigations which have led to hundreds of arrests. My investigations have led to the successful seizure of multiple pounds of illegal narcotics/drugs, as well as over one hundred firearms. Prior to my work with NNPD, I was active duty in the United States Marine Corps. I was assigned to Marine Corps Security Forces Regiment (MCSFR), Bravo Fleet Antiterrorism Security Team (Bravo FAST), 6th Platoon (Bravo-6). I also worked for Bravo FAST Company Headquarters.While working with Bravo Company HQ, I acted in the role of Police Sergeant, UPC, as well as the logistical arm of the company (S-4). I facilitated the transition of over 1200 Marines from one barracks to a new facility. I oversaw the building of the new barracks, and went through ensuring the quality I would expect for my Marines.I provided logistical support to deploying and training platoons, utilizing over $1-million in government funding to supply our Marines with necessary gear. I maintained a gear bunker worth over $7-million, optimizing performance of the bunker and resupplying gear as required. Prior to my multiple roles with Bravo HQ, I was a part of Bravo-6, 2nd Squad. The mission of the platoon was to provide expeditionary site security to US assets, as well as maintain a training standard as a Quick Reaction Force (QRF) in the case we would need to employ Recapture Tactics for US assets. During my time with Bravo-6, I deployed twice, once to Guantanamo Bay, and another to Yokosuka, Japan. I learned small-unit leadership, close quarter battle, discipline, tact, and bearing as a result of this assignment.
