  As a food service team member at the Waldorf Astoria I find myself as being much more than a bartender or server. As a singular member of a large and diverse team I view myself as pivotal cog in the mechanics of our restaurant. To our diners and travelers I see myself as playing an integral secondhand role in a guests experience at the Waldorf and abroad in the Park City area. Weather I am Serving or bartending my first responsibility is having a well rehearsed understanding of our food and spirit lists. That is, being able to recite the comprised ingredients each offered item, describe flavor profiles, and being able to recommend food and pairing recommendations. As a member of our restaurant team I have grown to recognize strengths and weaknesses within the staff. Being so, I am able to lend a hand where needed or ask for assistance when I am unable to execute a guest or staff members needs myself. I approach each of my guest in a very objective manner, first with a warm greeting and swifty but casually follow up by asking questions collecting data. Giving myself time to listen allows me to better anticipate my guests needs and expectations for the evening. While the guest dines with us I like to further gather information as to their visit to the Waldorf and to Park City. This in return allows for me to connect on a level other than dining, it allows for me to discuss activities in town, share some of my favorite "secrets" for food/ skiing/ hiking etc. Overall, this approach provides the opportunity to elevate service and transform dining into a fully enjoyable experience.
