I worked on Garmin’s Research and Development Team that is responsible for creating products and business segments. My role on this team was a mobile applications and Unity developer. Due to the confidentiality of my work, I am unable to provide specific details other than over the course of my twelve-week internship I did the following:• Gathered product requirements from customers and worked with a team to create minimum viable product designs for new products approved by the Garmin Executive Team• Researched and explored new ideas and markets to create new business segments and/or products• Created and analyzed revenue simulations for products in the early stages of development.• Worked with native computer vision and augmented reality on product recognition and tracking in 3D space.• Wrote automation scripts in C# to pipeline software creation and deployment• Developed iOS Mobile Applications for a variety of new Garmin Products

I worked on a team consisting of twenty people on the Vivofit Jr. mobile application. My role on this team was a mobile application developer on both Android and iOS. During my twelve weeks, I created a developer menu for the game portion of the app, as well as historical views for a users sleep and activity over the past day, month, and year. During my internship, I worked closely with the User Experience Designers to design fully functional components that are both easy to use and appealing to the user. I also worked closely with the API team to investigate what data would be required to populate the designed historical views, and what would be the best way to transfer this data from the server. All new Android development was done in Kotlin, while any modifications to existing classes was done in Java. All iOS development was done using Swift. As part of my internship, I fully participated in app planning and retrospectives for each two week sprint. I also got experience breaking down large projects into manageable tickets which I wrote and estimated.
