Our team's objective is to reduce takt time for 1st stage acceptance and qualification testing, while increasing flight reliability. Some of my projects are listed belowMechanical Design:-I looked at tolerance stack ups and redesigned our engine alignment tool and process to eliminate systematic errors in order to meet more stringent GNC requirements.-Environmental closeouts for the first stage while on the test standTest Data: -Automated data analysis to evaluate pass/fail criteria on various checks-Alarms that alert the control room when there is unexpected reading from any of ground systems-Detection of potential single point failures and proposal of solutions that would allow for a minimal amount of manual control
  • Siemens
Mechanical Engineer, Compressor Design - Intern
    Siemens Sep 2016 - May 2017
    Munich, De
I worked with our aerodynamics team to design blades and vanes for current and future engines. This involved hand calculations, FEA (Ansys), and optimization techniques. This resulted in blades and vanes had longer life, higher efficiency, and a lower cost than previous designs.I also took on a project to develop an optimization program that used a DOE (design of experiments) with FEA (finite element analysis, using Abaqus) to help tune the natural frequencies of a given blade or vane in order to reduce high cycle fatigue while maintaining or decreasing total mass.
  • Nasa - National Aeronautics And Space Administration
Next Generation X-Ray Optics (Ngxo) Technology Development - Intern
Nasa - National Aeronautics And Space Administration Jan 2016 - May 2016
    Washington, Dc, Us
Our team performed research on the manufacturing of thin lightweight X-Ray optics out of silicon. This allows a given observatory to fit more mirrors and thus have a larger collecting area. This was done while increasing the quality of individual mirrors compared to previous X-Ray observatories.During my time there I researched and developed various steps of this manufacturing process. I designed, built, and programmed machines that have become an integral part of mirror production. Most notably building a machine to dice of mirrors down to their required dimensions without disfiguring the mirror. While there, I also took on many smaller projects. Some of these involved automating and improving old processes to reduce time and increase safety. One of these projects was a simple computer vision program that would monitor machines running overnight, alerting a team member if an error was detected. The prevented failures saving the team thousands of dollars and weeks worth of work.
  • Thales
    Aircraft Engineering - Intern
    Thales Jun 2015 - Dec 2015
    Meudon, Île-De-France, Fr
I worked on the Aircraft Engineering team for Thales’ Inflyt Experience. I was hired as a summer intern to work closely with both the electrical and structural engineering teams. I helped implement a new CAD package and revised the company's internal drawing standards. I also made drawings and modified work instructions, often to accommodate unexpected changes that had been made to the aircraft. When my internship officially ended in August, I was asked to stay as a contractor and continued on with my work.
  • Lockheed Martin College Work Experiance Program/Ucf
    Field Operations: Sniper Targeting Pod
Lockheed Martin College Work Experiance Program/Ucf Jul 2014 - May 2015
    Bethesda, Md, Us
I worked on Field Operations for the Sniper Targeting Pod used on military aircraft. I was initially hired to handle logistics of parts and pods across Lockheed Martin and Military bases; however, after a short time, I was given more responsibility. At my desk I would look at statistics to predict part failure, working with procurement to ensure needed parts were always available. Simultaneously I would work in our labs testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and retrofitting pods that came back from the field.
  • All Round Repairs
    Mechanic
All Round Repairs Jul 1995 - Aug 2013
Growing up I spent my summers and weekends at my dad’s shop. I was always interested in how things worked and my dad was the best teacher I could have asked for. I got to fix everything from small cars to semi-trucks and construction equipment. I was helping build engines before I was out of diapers and driving forklifts as soon as I could reach the pedals. It was the best introduction I could have had for my mechanical engineering degree and still love to work at the shop when I go back to visit.
