I've always been tinkering and seeing just how far I can go with the things I find myself passionate about. At first it was ukulele, then yo-yoing, then guitar, then origami, then the cigar box guitar (yep, that's a thing), the suitcase drum (also a real thing 😄), and finally–technology. Music is and was a huge passion of mine growing up but I never took formal lessons. It was always, "Here's a (insert rad instrument here) and the Internet, good luck!" I'm still grateful I had the opportunity to experiment as much as I did, and I feel like learning in such an independent way improved my critical thinking skills greatly. As I've gotten older, I've felt a pull to learn more about *why* and *how* things can sound so good musically. That same kind of curiosity is what fuels my passion for technology. I strive to understand exactly *why* and *how* the languages and frameworks I use work together to create solid applications.Before college, I developed basic static web pages using HTML, CSS, and little JavaScript. I took Udemy courses and watched countless YouTube videos on web development. I was disappointed to learn in my first semester that web development wasn't a huge part of the Computer Science curriculum, so I continued to learn outside of my coursework. Over the past few years I've went from developing static web pages to whole applications using cloud services from AWS and Google Cloud. I even started working on my own guitar tablature app with React Native and AWS Amplify. While I've learned a lot about a variety of technologies, from web to mobile development, I am continuously learning. Currently I'm focused on honing my front end web development skills in Next.js 13+ with React Server Components. After spending most of my time in college learning different programming languages and frameworks in and out of class, I'm excited to apply all I've learned to help build applications that make a difference!Want to learn more about me?
