I was recruited by the office of the CEO to leverage my IT knowledge and leadership abilities and given a mission to restructure the ISDA IT department. I executed against these goals decisively. My team and I received praise from internal and external customers as well as strategic partners in the industry. Under my leadership, and aligned with the head of strategy and other business units, the IT team became a key driver to help make ISDA relevant again during a time when our benefit to the derivatives industry was in question. I brought ISDA’s technology solutions out of the corner closet and into the enterprise data center at a lower total cost of ownership and higher service level than the organization had ever known.

Leading all technical support operations for the company and reporting directly to the CIO. As both chief architect and lead engineer I developed new solutions and enhanced existing systems to adapt to the rapidly changing needs of the business. I designed and implemented the technology infrastructure critical to the IPO of Starwood Property Trust, Inc. (NYSE: STWD). I led the IT operations and infrastructure function for the SCG operating company, trading desk, legal offices, and Mr. Sternlicht’s wealth management offices.

Led all data center infrastructure and operations initiatives. Hands-on manager of numerous concurrent initiatives efficiently executing as both project manager and lead technician. Directed a diverse staff of systems engineers and desktop support technicians providing leadership and the final point of escalation for technical issues.As an early adopter of emerging technologies, I designed and built the first production Virtual Machine Infrastructure at Starwood using VMware ESX and EMC Symmetrix-leveraging VMotion and the VMware HA and DRS features. My server and storage infrastructure designs were used as a baseline for several technology solutions including solutions that were successfully marketed to other companies.
