Machine Operator... Job wasn't a good fit for me.

Ran several CNC milling machines. Learned to program using CAM software, and still used G code to machine parts according to customer prints.

Custom and repair job shop.• Set up from scratch, run, tear down, repeat; based on prints and customer specifications.• Write and edit CNC programs.• Run manual machines as needed.• Utilize precision quality equipment such as calipers, indicators, and micrometers.

Responsibilities:• Working for Curtiss Wright Flight Systems, I run 4 machines: 2 Makinos, 1 Haas and one 8 pallet Kitamura. • I work in conjunction with CNC Programmers and engineers to optimize processes, as well as make program modifications as needed.• I'm responsible for maintaining quality and productivity standards and blueprint reading.• I use inspection equipment including: dial bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, gauge pins and mics. I also inspect my own work to insure quality.• I calculate and adjust feed rates, speeds, cutter comps and geometry of tools on the machine as required.• I'm responsible for accuracy of CNC Program documentation upon completion, along with any additional responsibilities as assigned by my Supervisor.Accomplishments:Coming from Timken, running bearings, this is a major step up in machining experience. I read blue prints for customer specifications. • Adjusted numerous settings on the machine to run pieces that comply with customer specs. • Using precision gauges of many kinds, I performed checks throughout the run to be assured of quality and conformity. These gauges ranged from size, roundness, form to smoothness and generally measured in the millionths. • Routine maintenance and preventive maintenance are an everyday task. • We logged our production through the SPC program.AccomplishmentsThis was my first time in Aerospace machining; low tolerances and high demand made me appreciate what I did for Timken. These gauges ranged from size, roundness, form to smoothness and generally measure in the Tenths and Thousandths. • Routine maintenance and preventive maintenance are an everyday task. • With this company I received my fork truck licenses.• I ran 4 different grinding machines and 1 honing machine at one time in my primary department.
