Most noteworthy was the University of Chicago Humanitarian Recognition Award 2010 and the Institute of Medicine of Chicago Award 2010 for her travels to Haiti to build the first Pharmacy post-earthquake, conduct vaccination campaigns, and clinical interventions. Dr Awad is a strong advocate for patients, focused on safety and quality of care. Her involvement expands to international health support at disaster zones and in public health matters at a national level.
