I performed all duties and responsibilities as an IT Specialist Database Administrator for the Science Information and Technology Branch (SITB) in the National Institute of Arthritis Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) at the National Institute of Health (NIH). I am the Database Administrator for MS SQL Databases that collects information from Grants and other third-party databases. I administer databases for Production, Development, Staging, and Azure Disaster Recovery environments. I designed, normalized, developed, installed, and implemented database systems. I analyze and plan for changes in data and database requirements. As part of my duties, as a Database Administrator, I schedule, install, and implement software and security patches from Microsoft Security quarterly patches for all MS SQL database environments under NIAMS Monthly. I analyze and define the data requirements and specifications for Microsoft SQL database server environments. I analyze the server security requirements for all MS SQL servers in all environments. I schedule, create, maintain, and monitor backups for all MS SQL databases in NIAMS using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio. I maintain and monitor database backups daily for system performance and reliability in Microsoft SQL databases. I also perform database recovery on databases or data on several occasions. I also analyze MS SQL Server systems to conduct performance tuning to maximize system usage. I installed, configured, and maintained MS SQL Databases. I supported this application on WINDOWS Server 2016 and 2019. I developed and administered database standards, policies, and procedures. I also evaluate and provide recommendations on new database technologies and architecture. Ensure the application of information security, information policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of data management services that include FISMA and FDCC. I follow the NIAMS Project Management process for the integration of any hardware, Operating Systems, application development and deployment, Disaster Recovery testing and recovery, and other project implementations. Experience Project Manager with over 10 years of expertise at NIAMS. Proven track record of leading complex database migration, server upgrades, and system integration projects, with a strong focus on federal compliance and IT infrastructure optimization. Certified FAC - Project Manager, skilled in Oracle and MS SQL environments, system administration, and cloud migration initiatives.
