About Dima Saber

I lead Programs and Impact at Meedan, a not-for-profit focused on fighting for reliable, accessible information by improving the vector through which information travels today: the Internet. We work with over 70 organizations in 45+ countries across the Larger World — our preferred denomination for the Global South. Our inclusive network of collaborators spans North Africa and Western Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, sub-Saharan Africa and the Asia-Pacific region.I am also a researcher and writer on media depictions of conflict and on the role of archival records in identity building processes, focusing primarily on the work of political activists in post-revolution and conflict countries such as Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Yemen, and Palestine. I was, until late 2022, Reader in Media and Cultural Studies and Associate Director for External Funding and Research Development at the Birmingham Centre for Media and Cultural Research (Birmingham City University).
