in 2014 the department moved into the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Thornton Science Park, Ellesmere Port. Here my role was upgraded to a faculty one. The network I managed grew to now over 16 physical servers with 56 virtual machines (as of November 2016) providing services such as Database, Web, Remote Desktop, HPC, Research and more. My role has extended to include collaboration with central IT services (LIS) in documenting the latest technologies and products before roll out into the main corporate network. The faculty network is now mostly redundant with SQL servers being clustered into 'AlwaysOn' environments, Fileservers being part of SOFS and web servers formed into NLB clusters. The network is currently being upgraded to Windows Server 2016.

As Systems Development Officer within the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems (CSIS) I took on responsibility for our IT network and teaching spaces. I hold responsibility for 3 IT labs in terms of hardware, software and availability for bookings. I am responsible for several physical and virtual servers which provide the department with Database Servers, Web Servers, Remote Desktop Servers as well as management servers, fileservers and vNext servers. I am also responsible for departmental equipment which is loaned out to the students. Such equipment includes cameras, tripods, tablets and phones. The inventory grows regularly and I keep the stock current, safe and serviceable.
