Dimitris Assimakopoulos is full Professor in Technology & Innovation Management and Founding Director of the DBA program at Burgundy School of Business, Lyon campus, with a previous senior faculty experience in both Grenoble Ecole de Management and EM-Lyon Business School. Assimakopoulos also serves as the EDAMBA.eu President-elect (2013-current) and a Founding Chair and Faculty at the EIASM for leading both junior faculty (doctoral supervision) development workshops (2008-current at ESADE Business School) and for an Eden Doctoral-level seminar on social network analysis: theory and practice (2009-2017) with prominent colleagues from Bocconi University, UC London and MIT Sloan. Dimitris' has been the recipient of two prestigious EU ‘Marie Skłodowska-Curie’ grants both as principal investigator and academic supervisor for the management of emerging technologies for socio-economic impact initial training network (2010-2015) and doctoral (early stage) researcher (1992-1994). More recently he served as a member of the AACSB European Advisory Council (2019-2021); and as an adviser and contributor to the OECD, Center for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Cities and Regions (2019-2020); a visiting scholar twice in economic sociology at Stanford University (USA), as well as a visiting Professor in several Universities in the UK (Durham, Newcastle), Finland (Vaasa), and China (Tongji, Sun Yat-Sen) for the past 20+ years. Research has focused on responsible innovation and NPD, the management of social networks in R&D collaboration, the origins and evolution of technological communities in emerging knowledge-based regional clusters, virtual and industrial ecosystems in the EU, USA and China, among others. He has supervised to successful completion 20 PhD and DBA dissertations contributing in both faculty development and policy and practice; led and/or participated in several multi-million euros projects with world class organizations, such as CERN, Intel, Bayer STMicro Tencent and Airbus. Dimitris has published 10 books and special issues in scholarly journals; including 140 chapters, project reports and articles in journals, such as Computers & Operations Research, Environment and Planning B, Intl. J. of Information Management, Intl. J. of Production Economics, Intl. J. of Technology Management, Intl. Small Business J., Organizational Dynamics, R&D Management, Regional Studies, Science and Public Policy, and MIT Sloan Management Review.Dimitris enjoys dual citizenship (Greek and British) and lives with his family and two kids in Grenoble, France, since 2001.
