Dimitar Bodurov is a Bulgarian jazz pianist, composer and producer, currently based in Amsterdam (NL). Bodurov shaped his authentic musical signature combining his solid background in jazz improvisation and classical composition with his love for folklore and electronica.As a pianist Dimitar has been actively performing throughout the Netherlands and Europe as a leader, collaborator and guest. Bodurov has received a number of awards, the most recent of which is a mention at the Martial Solal Jazz Solo Piano Competition 2010.Bodurov is an author of several CD albums. His Bodurov trio CD “Stamps from Bulgaria” 2008 was selected in the prestigious Dutch journal Volkskrant top 10 releases for The Netherlands. His latest release for Challenge Records Bodurov trio “Seven Stamps” 2013 features the celebrated Bulgarian kaval player Theodosii Spassov. www.bodurovtrio.comAs a composer Bodurov has written mostly chamber works in various settings.
