Dimitra graduated from Tempe High School in 2001, while in high school she joined various clubs and served as the Senior Class photographer; President of the Native American Club; and interned at a local chiropractic office- gaining perspective in areas of interest that would later serve towards a greater purpose.Beginning in most entry-level industries, she identified the knack for account reconciliation; data processing; leading peers; and identifying areas in need of modifications to improve efficiency. These skills quickly provided opportunities for management and proficiency analysis; and eventually achievement awards for going above and beyond.Wanting to expand her area of expertise and provide support to her home community in Fort Defiance, Arizona; she applied to the local housing authority to better understand the complexities/infrastructure of the housing process. Housing has long been and continues to be a major issue on the Navajo Reservation.Following this experience she was introduced to the nonprofit industry where she initially served as the Office Manager. Working to improve processes and ensure the organization met IRS, Navajo Nation, grant, and other operational requirements- she gained the responsibility for Operations Manager. Eventually organizing and creating various outreach initiatives she was able to establish multiple community based programs- in and around the Fort Defiance community.
