Our world has rapidly become more and more connected through the spread and growth of various technology. People living continents away from each other can communicate within seconds, and never even have to see each other to do so. All walks of life can engage and inspire each other through cultural difference and exchange - but society's stratification has allowed some voices to be heard more than others.I began my professional career shortly after graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology in 2016. With my degree in social science, I had learned about not only social divisions, but also about the big questions regarding how we organize our societies. After being promoted to a leadership role within Amazon, I was able to engage with a wide variety of different people from diverse backgrounds - and as their departmental supervisor, I would begin to grow the kernels of aptitude for data analysis and visualization. Being confronted with various problems or barriers towards the goal of delivering customer orders allowed me to craft a mindset of flexible problem-solving, and I would use my off-time to challenge myself to learn the workings of Microsoft Excel. After several years with Amazon, I have found that I needed an increasingly analytical career that my current position doesn't quite encompass - using data-driven results to inspire benefits for others.I am currently pursuing my Google Data Analytics certification, where I aim to tie together many threads of my background as the foundation for my career in helping to build bridges for disenfranchised voices for sociopolitical equity.
