Dimitri Konstantas is Honorary Professor (Professor Emeritus) at the Geneva School of Economics and Management (GSEM) and member of the Information Service Science Institute of the University Center of Computer Science (CUI). He has served as Vice-Dean at the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences of the University of Geneva (CH), as director the Information Science Institute (ISI), as president of the GSEM partipatory Council, and he was previously professor and Chair of the APS group at the University of Twente, The Netherlands. Prof. Konstantas, is active since 1987, in research in the areas of Object Oriented systems, agent technologies, Multimedia applications and e-commerce services, with more than 100 publications in international conferences, journals, books and book chapters, a long participation and leadership in many European projects and with many nominations as consultant and scientific expert for several international companies and governments. Since 2002 his main research areas are mobile and wireless multimedia services and applications, with special interest in mobile health and location based services.During the last 5 years, Prof. Konstantas has initiated and participate in more than 15 Europeans and national projects, raising more than 60 MEUR for research and technology transfer projects, and having published several papers in international conferences and journals.From May 2018 to October 2022, Prof, Konstantas coordinated the H2020 European project AVENUE (which received a 15MEUR support from the European commission) , which validated the advantages and business relevance of autonomous vehicles for public transportation. As of 1st of October 2022, Prof. Konstantas is associate Coordinator and technical manager of the Horizon Europe project ULTIMO (which received a 40MEUR funding (24MEUR from the European commission and 16MEUR from the Swiss federal government) , with target to set the foundations and deploy the very first economically realistic and viableAutomated Vehicles’- based, large scale, on-demand, door-to-door, inclusive and user-oriented shared public transportation services, taking an holistic approach, considering all elements in a cross-sector business environment.
