About Dimitrios Chatzitheocharis

My research interests lie with the design, modelling, and layout of photonic integrated devices and circuits utilizing computational electromagnetic techniques and circuit-based models, employing commercial-grade software and in-house developed code, as well as their characterization. My PhD thesis focused on the simulation and design of integrated photonic couplers, filters, lasing elements and modulators for the heterogeneous and monolithic co-integration of active devices on the SiN platform, towards an >100Gbaud integrated transmitter design on SiN. My efforts are concentrated on the continuation of research and development towards the design of co-integrated devices and PICs oriented towards diverse applications and functionalities (sensing, neuromorphic photonics, communications etc).
