The role involves project management from start to finish, delivering multiple meetings from investment to safety toolbox meetings on site, ensuring that our scope is delivered effectively and efficiently from our contractors. Liaison with design and constructions contractors, reviewing design documentation and method statements is also a major aspect of the role. Forecasting budgeting, planning and weekly update meetings are held to ensure alignment with the program, scope of works and the specifications. Following company’s procedures, specifications and standards is also a daily activity. Direct involvement with the G17/G19 process and continues communications with internal and external customers is priority, so a zero complain environment can be established. Safety is one of our core drivers as well as an attitude of delivering on time and effectively.In detail the role involves management and design review of cathodic protection installations on high pressure pipelines, management and design of district governors sacrificial anode systems upgrades, management of telemetry and software upgrades on offtake sites, management and design review of electrical and instrumentation upgrades on AGIs, management and supervision of civil works and consultation services across the entire team about cathodic protection issues and queries.

The role had a strong practical and management nature, having to install, commission and supervise multiple ICCP and SACP systems across the entire network. After the early completion of the graduate program, direct involvement with the cathodic protection systems was prioritised. Basic project management actions were delivered, focusing on distributing and assigning tasks to our contractors and technicians but also actively participating on collection and evaluation of CP readings. A strong engagement with the G17/G19 process was achieved to introduce a new G19 design for a ICCP station, designed to meet the company’s requirements, needs, specifications and standards. Weekly site exposure was prioritised to gain experience on horizontal and deep well ground-bed installation and commissioning. One of the biggest installations was an 80meters vertical MMO ground-bed in Leeds, designed for protecting a pipeline that feeds 250,000 end users. Before the full project hand-over, I was actively participating on site prioritisation and selection for the next years’ workload. Additionally, presentations to managers were contacted to increase the awareness of cathodic protection systems within the business and the impact of CP on the network.

Duties involved using CNC machinery in a fully automated production line, installing and assessing the quality of LV protection, preparing order sheets, organizing the delivery process, quality control, provide help when needed and generally familiarize myself with the lean synchronization policy of the factory. Also, I was responsible for contacting the customers for new promotions, providing technical advices and handling complains in a first base level. On later stages, I have been assigned with the task to design a new distribution board and manage the production of 1000 items. The production had 99.8% succession rate, which was one of my first achievements in the industry.

During the summer of 2010, i worked as a volunteer assistant production worker in a PCB production and design manufacturing company.Duties involved:Assistance in the production line, inform the clients for any new products, checking stock and condition levels and observer in the design of circuit boards and software development.Personal impact:Developed my team working skills as this role involved gain the trust and respect of the staff and gained adequate work experience in software and hardware development.
