Freelance Creative - Short Term Contract

This position demanded that I not only have the technical knowledge to manage the on-air side of a major satellite channel but also the ability to manage a team of over a dozen people. Responsibilities included managing delivery of promotions from creative briefs, creating on-air branding content, supplying promotional content for VOD, Marketing and PR departments. And international scheduling of promotions for transmission for a number of channels in EMEA. I was responsible for managing all on-air aspects of the channel from creating promotions to TX programme editing, as well as being responsible for the channel's programming compliance.I produced a wide range of in-house programme material, including interstitials and commercials, as well as liaising with production companies on creative and technical matters for all commissioned programmes.(Artsworld was taken over by BSkyB and is now known as Sky Arts)

Independent broadcast facilities company based in London.I helped set-up their first linear online suite, editing and finishing a wide variety of broadcast programming for ITV, BBC, Channel 4 and ITN.

Joined as a trainee, but within a year was promoted to Senior Engineer, working in various departments; ENG, maintenance, VTR, studios. I also mixed TX sound and vision live on transmission for ITV presentation.Moved into post-production in 1991 as an assistant editor, then was promoted to editor in 1992.Made redundant in 1993 due to Thames losing the weekday ITV franchise to Carlton.
