Led the multi-disciplinary Advanced Technology Innovation Group, responsible for the development of next generation modeling and optimization solutions for the process industries.Formulated technology strategies for the integration of business decision-making across enterprise corporate functions and envelope optimization.Led the technology development for solving crude assay management, crude selection, and refining planning economics problems.

Lead the development and global deployment of downstream planning, scheduling, and blending solutions to major oil corporations (PIMS, APS, MBO).Lead a team of senior experts in business intelligence, modeling, and software technology in the development of novel business solutions for supply chain management problems in the energy and chemical industries.Created the first commercial, large-scale optimization application (Aspen MBO) for refinery product blend schedule optimization. Responsible for all product aspects including design, implementation, product management, marketing, training materials, and detailed business benefits.

Directed and led the global deployment of a fully integrated blend scheduling system covering North America, European and Asia Pacific refining operations for major oil companies. Developed the value proposition, a new quantitative evaluation methodology, and verified (multi-million USD) economic benefits.Developed novel modeling and optimization technologies with high performance computing for refining and petrochemical planning, scheduling, and blending.Created the first commercial, large-scale, MINLP optimization algorithm (Aspen XSLP) and successfully deployed to solve planning and scheduling problems.Developed, implemented, and lead consulting projects in closed-loop, real-time modeling and optimization, using large-scale, equation-oriented modeling systems. Applications in crude units, FCC units, and olefins production units.

Developed large scale, state of the art, nonlinear optimization technology (DMO solver). Developed a detailed kinetic hydrocarbon pyrolysis model suitable for online deployment.Executed closed-loop, real-time optimization (RTO) systems for ethylene units.
