My experience of working within FMCG and Retail has involved roles with far-reaching responsibilities, including having worked in Food & Nutrition, Health & Well-being and Cosmetics categories. I bring a depth and breadth of knowledge that gives the Board absolute confidence I will do the right thing, at the right time; they trust me to get things done.I love the fact that my work varies day-to-day, including:► Full P&L responsibility, including operating profit and net working capital.► Meeting targets in terms of gross margin, bottom line profitability and new market penetration.► Creating and delivering business plans, focused on increasing market share.► Market and competitor analysis, identifying opportunities to diversify into new categories.► Establishing best routes to market, direct to retailers, through distributors or subsidiaries.I believe some of my success is due to a willingness to learn and really get involved. But I also think it is based on these philosophies which I stand by:► Keeping things simple by focusing on the sustainability as well as profitability of the business.► Remembering that it isn’t just about selling your product, it’s about building your brand.► Really get to know your customers – you can’t do that from behind your desk, visit them regularly.I’m proud to be able to say that my track record includes successfully penetrating new markets as well as optimising existing key accounts. This brings me to the most important key to my success, understanding that nothing is ever achieved on your own. It’s all about relationships – with your customers, your distributers, and your team.
