Friends of WHEELS is a nonprofit organization that directly funds college readiness and persistence services for students in Washington Heights.In collaboration with school principal, launched a school-based nonprofit to support college services for high school students.Fundraise through strategic cultivation of new foundation grants, major gift solicitations, creative sponsorship opportunities, and effective fundraising events.Produce grant proposals ($1,000 - $100,000) for sponsorships, in-kind gifts, and financial donations. Work closely with the board chair to oversee the board of directors, develop quarterly reports and board books, facilitate board meetings, plan annual board retreat, and create strategic growth and stewardship plans.Develop high-quality marketing materials to communicate the organization’s mission and programs to partners.Plan and manage volunteer outreach and participation for school events of up to 100 volunteers.Maintain and grow funder relationships through regular school visits, employee opportunities for volunteering, and reports.
