Making a positive impact and contribution to the HR and people strategic aims at this new secondary school. Providing strategic advice to the board and head teacher, ensuring that the advice is cognisant of the schools values, ethos, future goals/aspirations as well as the wider community it serves. Reviewing a number of HR related school policies to ensure that they are correct and current. Attending interview days, when needed. Provide strategic advice to the Head Teacher and members of the senior leadership team (SLT) and adding a different perspective to the Board. Specific contributions include:- Reviewing the approach to staff wellness, which resulted in the introduction of an employee assistance programme for all staff and their families.- Kick starting and driving DEI, providing key insights and advising the Head and SLT on their strategic approach to embedding inclusivity, equality, equity of treatment and awareness of all backgrounds and characteristics into their culture.- Providing input into the strategic plans around the D&I calendar and various actions that can be taken at the school (curriculum, library, etc.)- Providing input into the strategic plans on how the school can engage the community, parents and students on this topic. - Sourced a provider and put in place a CPD programme around inclusivity, biases, awareness raising for teachers and building this into the DE&I strategic plan. - Reviewing data around exclusions, consequences and detentions.Focus:Diversity, Equity and InclusionEmployee wellness Member of the Resources Committee
