As a volunteer in the emergency room, I am immersed in the essence of medicinal care. On site, I assist certified healthcare workers at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital to help clean and prepare beds for incoming patients, socialize with patients and offer them company, and give them food when requested by their healthcare worker. My favorite part about this experience is socializing with patients and keeping them company. I am always fascinated by the stories I hear and the people I meet, all of who are a part of my immediate community.

At Connecticut College, the Sexual Violence Prevention Association gives students like me a platform to talk about what conversations that are often stigmatized and overlooked. While our main goal is to make Connecticut College's students aware of what it means to create safe sexual experience for themselves and their partner, we also talk about topics like home life, mental health, contraception, being a student, addiction, and so much more. Coming to Connecticut College I immediately became a part of SVPA's initiatives because this program resonates with my passion to build safer and more connected communities around me. I specifically decided to work with the Education Taskforce because I felt that doing the research in creating education content for college students will help me grow as an individual, and allow me to be more hands-on with the content we explore. I work with my Education Taskforce fellow and team, to create both fun and informative content on Tik ToK as the main editor. We also work on creating presentations for all of Connecticut College students. This past year, we did a two-part Narcan Training Session, and now so many students on Conn are Narcan trained! We also hold many table events on campus, allowing students to participate in creating awareness for Sexual Violence Prevention, Healthy Relationships, and Life at Home. With our new Director, Nicole Powell, the SVPA branch at Connecticut College is working towards so many new projects for students on campus, and I am so excited to be a part of this journey!

The Pre-Health Club community is lead by an amazing group of students, faculty, and staff. It gives pre-health students such as myself an outlet to explore what it means to pursue a profession in the healthcare system, connect us with alumni and upperclassmen, and give us a community in which we can lean on for support.The people that I have met in the Pre-Health club are some of my biggest supporters and because of them I never feel like I am alone on this rigorous pre-medical journey. I look forward to stepping up and becoming more involved in this club for future underclassmen.

At Connecticut College, a number of research experiments require testing on laboratory rats. My job at the lab is to come in weekly and clean the rat cages, interact with the rats, and make sure that proper living conditions are met. In order to acquire this position, I am certified to work with laboratory animals. The animals are giving their lives for science, though their fate is inevitable, my job is to ensure that they are as comfortable as possible.
