CurrentEstablished in 1992, Interactive Design Architects (IDEA) carefully selected its name to reflect the firm’s collaborative ideals and, today, our name continues to serve as the guiding principal of our work. Our staff is a carefully composed team of highly experienced architects and emerging professionals. Dina Griffin is President of IDEA, with partners Charlie Young and Bob Larsen. Skilled, discerning and hands-on, each IDEA professional contributes significantly to the successful formation and management of interdisciplinary project teams working to realize client objectives. We are small by design because we believe that direct and personal communication is the most successful.IDEA excels at working with multi-layered and multi-talented stakeholder groups, effectively engaging all investors, acknowledging divergent inspirations while facilitating consensus. Our ongoing relationships with large, multi-layered organizations such as the Chicago Public Library, the Art Institute of Chicago, Lincoln Park Zoo, the University of Chicago, and the United States General Services Administration illustrate our capacity for inclusive, participatory and responsive architecture.IDEA also has a proven history of collaboration with other thought leaders in our profession on such noteworthy projects such as The Modern Wing at the Art Institute of Chicago with Renzo Piano Building Workshop. The firm is honored to have recently been selected as associate architect to Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects to design the Barack Obama Presidential Center in Chicago.
