Dina Imbriani is the Owner of and an Instructor for Mountain Shepherd Adventure School in Catawba, Virginia.With over 25 years of corporate experience, her leadership and organizational development expertise grew through leading, developing, and coaching teams in a variety of disciplines. As the owner of Mountain Shepherd Adventure School, Dina brings an incredible combination of leadership skills and positivity that are a result of her corporate experience, her love for outdoor recreation, and over a decade of high-quality survival training.Dina was born in California and raised in both Chicago and Roanoke where she spent much of her time outdoors learning nature’s unique signature across different terrains and climates. Dina’s passion for the outdoors grew as she experienced a variety of outdoor activities and became exceptionally skilled at hiking, backpacking, canoeing, skiing on both snow and water, and rock climbing. Beginning in 2006, Dina’s outdoor recreational focus shifted when she was trained to survive in austere wilderness conditions. Led by a former U.S. Air Force SERE instructor, Dina experienced and practiced wilderness survival leading her to develop and refine her survival skills while also learning how to teach wilderness survival. It was during her early survival training and teaching experiences that Dina recognized the many parallels between practical survival skills in the backcountry and social or professional survival skills in the “front-country,” or the corporate world. Her passion ignited once again to help others understand survival skills are not only for the outdoors, but also for our everyday lives. Dina’s greatest satisfaction comes from sharing her knowledge of the outdoors and how to successfully survive difficult situations, whether in the wilderness or in the classroom or board room. Her unique experiential curriculum is based on drawing associations between wilderness survival and everyday survival. Through her training, students, who range from corporate professionals to young families, and from empty-nesters to college undergraduates, are ever changed by learning survival skills that can be used every day to enhance and deepen their lives.
