I enjoy modelling, maths and programming. After my studies I did not want, like many peers, to end up on the trading floor or risk desk. So I started searching for something else.**Entrepreneur**During my studies I started my own company. With this webdesign and webdevelopment company I did pay my studies, of which I'm still proud. I love careful, well-considered, technical robust work. Always using engineering to improve the world. I refuse any form of cookie popups, privacy violations or dark patterns. Whenever possible I default to open-source solutions.**Software Engineer**At Lendahand I found the rewarding mix of webdevelopment, finance and social impact I was looking for. After more than 5 years I decided to move back to the east of the Netherlands and started as a Software Engineer at Kerkdienstgemist. I now have broad experience from Linux, Hosting, Docker to Ruby, PHP, HTML, CSS. The entrepreneurial urge is always there, looking for new ways to improve the world with finance and engineering.**Actively doing nothing as Emeritus Engineer**After some 10 years as a Software Engineer I decided to stop and see if one of my many interests might yield a valuable line of work going forward. I call it Actively Doing Nothing. I'm investigating multiple ideas but I'm not sure yet what may stick.Maybe I'll write? Develop a boardgame? Something with theatre, speaking, comedy. Maybe I'll continue in Software Engineering but as a a freelancer. Who knows? I'm actively looking around. We'll see.**Other**Affinity with comedy, theatre, writing and public speaking. I used to do standup comedy once. Occasional tabletop board-game nerd. Friday evenings I DM for a D&D group (if you know you know).
