I am the CEO of StrainBrain, the leading AI-powered technology company revolutionizing legal cannabis shopping experiences through personalized product recommendations. I am also a Board Member of StrainBrain's parent company, Powr Plant.I am on the Board of Directors of NewLake Capital. NewLake is an industry leading net lease REIT that provides real estate capital to state-licensed cannabis operators through sale-leaseback transactions, third-party purchases and funding for build-to-suit projects.I am the co-founder of KND Group, a business law, government affairs and consulting firm specializing in highly regulated industries, including cannabis. My parters, Katie Neer and Ngiste Abebe, are recognized leaders in the cannabis industry who are involved in many state regulated programs, with Katie playing a pivotal role in the New York regulated cannabis program and Ngiste doing the same in Virginia. Before co-founding KND Group, I helped take Green Thumb Industries, a national cannabis company (GTBIF), from an idea on paper in 2014 to a publicly-traded company in 2018. I wore many hats over 9 years: I created and led the Government Affairs department, the Regulatory Compliance function, the competitive licensing application team, and the Social Impact department. I advised the c-suite on corporate strategy, legal strategy, internal and external communications, and helped prepare board communications.In 2014 I co-founded and was President of Illinois Women in Cannabis, a not-for-profit focused on advancing women's roles and opportunities in the industry, that is the leading professional cannabis networking organization in Illinois, with over 1,000 paid members. I co-created and co-taught a cannabis law course at Chicago-Kent law school.
