The topics discussed include current events, hobbies, synagogue art, human rights issues and the intersection of contemporary life with religion. An integral part of the program was social action projects. The teens worked with Habitat for Humanity on construction projects in Yonkers, NY. They also worked with AFYA, sorting and packing medical supplies to be sent to Haiti and countries in Africa. A group that captured the teens’ passion was Bicycles Against Poverty. Each year they ran successful fundraisers for this group.
