My previous role at the SSC Group, as the head of SSC Advisory was multi-faceted and including drafting and implementation of a growth strategy for advisory related business, delivering on client expectations, and overseeing the SSC Group Human Resources function. Highlights during this tenure included end to end management of Employee Share Ownership Programmes and the drafting of strategic plans for broad based transformation within mining companies. Other transformation related roles included a period as a Strategy Specialist: B-BBEE at Nedbank, as a member of a strategic unit that oversees transformation within the Nedbank Group. Being well versed in B-BBEE compliance and the accompanying legislation means that I was part of a team, able to collaborate across multiple business units and clusters, to ensure that the transformation requirements for the Nedbank Group are met. As part of this team, one of the major milestones has been Nedbank reaching Level 1 contributor B-BBEE status for the first time in 2019 and subsequently retaining this contributor status in until 2021. During this period the team also presented the first verified pension fund specific scorecard to the FSCA (Financial Sector Conduct Authority)This was preceded as the Group Transformation Manager for the Scribante group involved successfully setting up and implementing a Transformation Unit within the Scribante Group. This enabled to the Group to progress from being a non-compliant B-BBEE contributor to having a market competitive B-BBEE contributor level. This role included involvement with setting up and developing an in-house training company, with the relevant SETA accreditation as well as initiation and implementation of a successful Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD) programme to ensure optimal scoring capability.
