I am the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at Teachers' Retirement System of the City of New York (TRS), one of the largest pension systems in the nation, serving over 200,000 members and retirees. I have a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from Long Island University and a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from SHRM.With over two decades of senior leadership experience in the public sector, I am a passionate and lifelong public servant who drives social change and improves communities. I lead and oversee the strategic direction and operations of the human resources function at TRS, focusing on organizational development, talent management, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion (DI) and pay equity. I have successfully presided over multiple impactful projects and initiatives that enhance the culture, performance, and well-being of organizations and their stakeholders. I have also held prominent roles as Senior Advisor to the Governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands, Chief of Staff at the NYC Mayor's Office, and Executive Director of NYC Pay Equity Cabinet. I have been honored as one of the 2023 Notable HR Leaders by Crain's New York Business and one of the Top 25 Influential Black Women in Business by The Network Journal. I’ve mentored many professionals who are now senior leaders in their respective organizations.
