born in Riyadh in 1994, DINA is a Jordanian singer-songwriter who grew up living in Dubai her whole life.DINA’s voice was discovered when she was 2 years old, she began singing to the most successful musician and composer in the Arab world, Kathem Al Saher before she spoke.DINA took piano lessons as a child but didn’t take music seriously until she was in her early 20’s. She explains “ I started writing songs in my head and it took my interest in music to another level. At the age of 14, I taught myself how to play the guitar to broaden my horizons even more.” “It’s crazy how therapeutic music is, it touches your soul.” She adds.During college and after graduating she was still working in marketing but only until late October 2016, she decided to pursue music full time. It was the unusual “post-graduate” experience for a Jordanian girl coming from a conservative background.Within this short time, she has already worked her way up to opening up for Take That, playing before Calvin Harris and reaching top 4 finalists of the Emerging Talent Competition and performing across almost every festival and local venue in the city. With her guitar in one hand and her passion for the arts in the other, she quickly racked up a string of shows juggling between playing covers and a handful of originals, in hopes of seeing what her next step would be.Reaching what she ultimately felt was a plateau in her journey and connecting to her audience in every show, she soon decided to undertake in creating her debut single release, followed by another collaboration.Embarking into a new direction and sailing into a significantly unexplored genre of music in the Middle East, DINA continues to explore different sounds and is currently working on her next step to releasing more original music.
