Main Responsibilities:1. Ensure CPC's interest is maintained under ongoing LNG projects and future LNG expansions.2. Review the Documents, drawings, P&ID's relevent studies of ongoing LNG projects.3. Coordinate and liaise with relevant stakeholders during the ongoing projects and future expansions on behalf of CPC.4. Ensure training needs of the Project Team with regard to the LNG development and operations.5. Prepare the relevant reports and studies with regard to the LNG related infrastructure development in the country as and when necessary.6. Ensure the smooth trannsfer of the Pipeline operation at the end of ten years from the LNG pipeline project completion and assist to manage the operation of the LNG pipeline subsequent to transfer.7. Assist to make suitable arrangements to expand the LNG function timely based on the requirement at the time and update the HR, Training and Development plans in timely manner8. Ensure the competency of the subordinates of the LNG function to be in par with the latest global developments.

Prepare & draft all the plot plans and other required drawings (preliminary & design) required for infrastructure development plans/projects using AutoCAD (2D, Mechanical, P&ID) software & preparation of 3D models using Solid Works, AutoCAD 3D.5. Actively involved in Procurements and Contract Administrations concerning Goods, Works & Service contracts & Member of various committees representing the Corporation (i.e. Technical Evaluation Committees, Procurement Committees, EMS & QMS audit teams, Board of surveys, etc.)6. Controlling and Overlooking of the GIS platform of the organization.In addition, I actively participated in the;1. Sapugaskanda Oil Refinery Major Shutdown (MSD) in 2024 as a Mechanical Engineer.2. Drydock overhaul of the Crude Oil Unloading SPM Buoy in the middle of the sea around 9km away from the Colombo Port in 2023 as a site Mechanical Engineer2. Represent Corporation on various forums including the National Gas Policy preparation.

Designing Modular Operating Theaters in hospitals and in charge of the installation/service & maintenance of the same. 3. Undertake special projects related to Gas and Clean Room installations.

Instructor for the lab sessions in Applied Thermodynamics and Mechanics of Machines for 2nd year and 3rd year Engineering Undergraduates.

Sapugaskanda, Sri Lanka

I was able to obtain my 2nd internship in Sri Lanka's only oil refinery located in the Sapugaskanda area. The capacity of the refinery is 50,000BPD and can refine mainly light crudes such as Iranian light, Upper Zakum, Arabian light, and Merban. In the refinery, I closely gain experienced in the complete refining process and further knowledge was gathered from the following departments.1. Fabrication and Welding shop: In this workshop I got hands-on experience on the welding technology in Arc/Gas/Spot/Seam/Mig/Tig/Submerge Arc. Also I gained practical experience of best practices for a quality welding by closely work with 6G qualified welders. 2. Mechanical Workshop: In this workshop, I observed and learned various corrective maintenance operations carried out for the refinery equipment.3. Process Maintenance section (Mechanical): In this section I gained knowledge on the static equipment maintenence in the refinery ranging from Furnace, Heat Exchangers, Reactors, Vessels and learned the troubleshooting of the common failures observed in such equipments.4. Rotating equipment maintenance section: In this section, I gained knowledge on rotating equipment maintenance in the refinery such as pumps, and compressors. Also prepared a maintenance plan for Area 1 & Area 2 rotating equipment as per the OEM's recommendations.5. Boilers maintenance section: In this section, I learned about the operation and safety aspects of the boilers and participated in the boiler repair work.6. Inspection department: In this department, I gained practical experience of NDT tests such as UT/PT/MT/RT works carried out in the refinery and learned to interpret radiographic results of the weld joint. Further, I studied API 510/570 & 653 codes required in the Petroleum industry.7. Project & Planning department: In this department, I learned how the major Turn around of the refinery was planned and how the procurement process was planned

Sri Lanka Railway Department is Sri Lanka's only railway owner/ primary operator and it's a fully government-owned organization. As part of my 1st internship training period, I was lucky enough to get my training in the Chief Mechanical Engineer's (CME) workshop facility in Ratmalana which spends over 50 acres land with various workshop facilities. I was able to get my training in the following workshops and sections.1. Blacksmith shop (WS#45): I gained knowledge and hands-on experience in Forging (Heavy/Strong/Light) and Furnace Types used to make various metal components and practical experience how the iron-carbon phase diagrams are used in the industry. 2. Tool room (WS#42): I gained hands-on experience in the operation of Milling Machines/Grinding Machines/ Engraving machines.3. Bench fitting and Machining shop (WS#41): I was able to get hands-on experience in Lathe machines, Drilling machines, shaping machines, Broaching machines operation, and the practical experience of using various tools.4. Millwright shop (WS#32): While in this workshop compressor repairing was carried out both in Reciprocating and rotary types.5. Foundry (WS#43): Foundry shop was used to make various components by casting method. I was able to experience how the casting process was carried out with the highest quality level with the selection of sand binders and additives. Also, experienced the operation of 5T Cupola Furnances used to melt metal.6.Diesel Hydraulic Locomotive repair shop (WS#28): In this workshop, I experienced how the diesel-hydraulic engine repairing was carried out and participated to test runs after repairs were completed.7. Diesel Electric Locomotive repair shop (WS#16): In this workshop, I was able to experience how the repairing of Diesel Electric locomotives was carried out. Mainly pumps and injector repair was experienced.
