 The responsibility involved the setting up the laboratory / centre for implementing the concept of DST Unit on Nanosciences. Design / Layout/ Building Plan of the centre for desired laboratory facilities. Identification of Laboratory Equipment, Utilities and Staff requirements. Vendor selection for Lab Equipment, Ordering, Procurement and Installation. Staff recruitment and training. Creating general awareness in IIT research community for an optimum use of the laboratory / facility utilization.

 Setting up Nano Imaging Lab with AFM and STM equipment from Molecular Imaging (Now Agilent). Worked on this system for six years and another system was also installed after two years.  My main responsibility during this period was to generate good results for various kinds of materials like polymers, semiconductors, composites, biological materials etc. Demonstration and Training on operational and application aspects of AFM to other users.

 Worked on CSIR sponsored project on growth of pure and doped amorphous silicon films using PECVD technique for study of photovoltaic studies.  Preparation of Porous silicon samples by electrochemical methods and their optical and electrical studies Instructor for MSc Physics lab.

Advanced Centre For Materials Science

Worked in the second phase of Defence Research & Development (DRDO) sponsored project entitled, ‘Development of BSO crystals for Optical Modulators’. Work involved was to grow pure and doped Bismuth Silican Oxide Single Crystals using Czochralski technique for applications in Optical Modulators.

 The main task was to set up and develop PECVD facility for preparation of pure and doped Amorphous silicon films which was completed successfully.  Instructor for First year Physics Lab.

Worked under Defence Research & Development (DRDO) sponsored project entitled, ‘Development of BSO crystals for Optical Modulators’. Work involved was to develop a Czochralsi Crystal Growth System to grow Bismuth Silical Oxide crystal from melt. Characterization of Grown crystals for their Electrical and Optical Properties.
