As SVP, Products, IBM Software, Dinesh Nirmal leads product development for an organization of thousands of developers, support engineers and builders working on winning products like Watson Orchestrate, Watson Assistant, Turbonomic, Envizi and QRadar. He is responsible for new products and innovation, the company’s software technology direction, location strategy, support and ecosystem development. A people-first leader and change agent, Dinesh prioritizes organizational culture by communicating a vivid sense of purpose and fostering a culture of innovation.Dinesh has 20+ years' experience leading strategy and execution for technologies spanning machine learning, analytics at the edge, open source and database. In previous roles, he has overseen the strategic direction and management of IBM's data, AI and automation software portfolios, transformed the IBM Automation organization into an AI-powered business and led product strategy and engineering for IBM Cloud Paks, data and AI. Dinesh has been with IBM since 1997, when he was hired as a developer to port SAP applications to IBM hardware.Under his leadership as site executive, the IBM Silicon Valley Lab has grown to be a hub of innovation, hosting fireside chats with international dignitaries and an AI camp for children in partnership with the City of San Jose. In 2019, Dinesh opened the first dedicated cricket pitch at a tech campus in Silicon Valley.
