Research leading to Ph.D.• Introduction of simple and repeatable phasor measurement unit (PMU) test procedure • Introduction of new M-class filter for PMUs to enhance their dynamic performances• Review of IEEE Std. C37.118.1-2011 and constructive suggestions to rectify minor inconsistencies • Development of a PMU model in PSCAD/EMTDC software • Introduction of two noise tolerant, synchrophasor based transmission line parameters monitoring algorithms• Validation of line parameters monitoring algorithms in a hardware experimental setup and field measurements• Development of a novel method to predict the potential rotor angle instability using PMU measurements• Study of practical issues such as missing data, communication latency, etc. of synchrophasor networks on stability/instability prediction
