Dinesh Chopra is a seasoned executive with 25 years experience in strategy, M&A, PE/VC, and operating roles. A business shaper and transformer, Dinesh has driven product development, digitization, and sustainable growth & optimization in industrial and financial services companies.He is currently President at Fernweh Group, a private equity firm focusing on the industrial sector. As President and a partner in the firm, he is responsible for all aspects of investing (investment evaluation, diligence, and closing), and taking an active operating role in the portfolio companies to orchestrate turnarounds and eventual exits. Prior to Fernweh, Dinesh was a member of the executive team and Chief Strategy and Corporate Development Officer of Ally Financial, where he was recruited to drive the company’s evolution with a primary focus on growth, product diversification, and innovation. He led several transformative acquisitions, drove the entry of Ally into the unsecured lending business (credit card & POS), revamped the mortgage and brokerage businesses, and helped reimagine Ally’s digital journey.Earlier, Dinesh held various leadership positions across strategy, payments, and retail banking at Citigroup and Capital One, where he drove transformation, expansion, and optimization efforts across business units.
